We've just been organising for Animals Asia to come into school to do their "Professor Paws" programme with our Grade 1 children and it got me thinking that I should let everyone know about how wonderful they are! Animals Asia is a Hong Kong-based charity, dedicated to ending cruelty and restoring respect for all animals in Asia.
The veterinary practise I go to was also started by the same amazing woman who started Animals Asia. You may have heard of the Animals Asia Moon Bear Rescue programme that goes into China and rescues bears. So far they have rescued 500 farmed bears and are trying to end bear farming forever. That is just one of their many programmes.
The main issue that they are trying to change that is of special interest to me, is they are trying to stop the practise of
This is not a joke!
Thankfully it doesn't happen in Hong Kong: it's illegal as we were a British colony; however, in China the practise continues. It's horrible and I can't think about it!
If you're interested in finding out more, head over to the Animals Asia site by clicking on the banner below or above to get more info. It would be great everyone could put one of the banners on their blog to raise awareness, too! It's horrible and we need to work together to put a stop to it!

Hi, this is Maggy & Zoey (and Ann) of Zoolatry. We're going to try and add the Asia tag to our blog this morning. Read on Cat Blogosphere about the WSPA and we did a special picture for you, for this, and a TAG in support of it. Realize you probably already have your post on this set up, but if you want to take a look at what we've done, email us and we'll send them back to you. No obligation to use either! We're at zoolatry@gmail.com. It's Monday here, 10:30 am eastern time. So let us know if you'd like these two pictures sent to you before your Tuesday posting.
Thanks!
